Leaving TBR 2009

A bus nut buddy sent this to us. He took it as we were leaving TBR 2009. We both like the picture very much so I thought I would share.

New Texas Rally

Becky and I left last Thursday for Franklin TX to a mini bus rally. It was hosted by Dallas & Cat Farnsworth at RV Relay Station. We had 6 coaches attending, two Eagles, three MCI's and one GMC. The GMC was a 1970 4905 with a total of 80K on the coach. Was owned by a church and they kept it in a building when not driving it, meticulously maintained, bays were super clean. A couple from the Tulsa OK area are converting it.

We arrived back home in Abilene yesterday around 6 pm, rained the whole trip home. We had a wonderful time, and the weather until we headed home was great.

It was a great laid back rally, we just enjoyed the company and ate way too much!

Window Valence

I finally got around to finishing the window valence on the passenger side of the lounge. Now all I have to do is the other side!
It was quite challenging making that up and putting it together on the ground! But it all came out pretty good.

First Web Project Completed!

I finished my first hand coded web site this morning. I know this has nothing to do with Dreamscape Eagle, but it does with me! LOL

Here it is www.jerrykiser.com

Check it out also at my Dreamscapers Web Design blog.

Finished Look of Recessed Lights

Here is the way it all looks with the lights on. My wife thinks we live in a movie theater! She didn't use those words exactly, but you get the meaning. LOL
I should point out, this was not my idea. A fellow bus nut building a Prevost posted on the BCM board what he was able to do. Pat (Muddog), deserves the credit. Check out his blog listed below.
Thanks for the idea Pat!

Recessed Lighting

We removed the old acorn style lights and installed these. The can measures 4", I removed the J box in order to get it to fit. There just enough room in the ceiling to do this. It all went pretty well, you know how it is when you build a bus, you have to modify things to fit them. At least now I won't hit my head when I want to open a window. I bought these at Lowes for about 11 bucks each. We've ordered some LED's to replace the Halogen bulbs. Found them on eBay for $5.25 each. When they arrive I'll install them, as they are much cooler. The lights also pivot, not sure if we will use that feature or not.

Web Classes Start on Monday

Well, here we go again. My classes start on Monday January 11th. Due to the increased work load not much will be getting done on our coach. I do have a couple of uncompleted projects that will have to wait until I can take the time to finish them. This month off in between classes has been very nice. A short trip to Oregon and work done in our coach.

I did reuse the fridge oak panels for the doors, cut off the lip and turned them into cabinet doors for our enlarged medicine cabinet in the bathroom. This increased our storage space by quite a bit. I'll post more info later.

I also removed the interior 120v lights in the lounge and replaced them with some recessed lights. We knew that these were temporary, to be replaced when I found the right style and size. I'll replace the halogen bulbs with some LED's later. The halogen are just too hot, found some on eBay that will work nicely. I'll post more on this later also, maybe before the weekend is over.
